About Us
Meaningful Life Occupational Therapy (MLOT) is a small, specialised Occupational Therapy team servicing the Toowoomba area. MLOT is comprised of two Occupational Therapists, Megan and Laura, who work together to ensure the best outcomes for clients. We primarily work in the NDIS space and specialise in psychosocial disability (mainly mental health).
Laura Murtagh
Laura Murtagh has been an Occupational Therapist for 15 years and has worked in hospital and community settings, in aged care, medical and rehabilitation.
For most of her career, Laura has worked in mental health, primarily with adults. Laura is particularly interested in the assessment of cognition and engaging participants in sensory interventions.
Laura has worked in the NDIS space since its rollout in Toowoomba, first for an NGO and then with Megan in MLOT.
Laura juggles work with a young family and loves that this work allows her to work with consumers in their own homes and on their goals.

Megan Batts
Megan studied Occupational Therapy at the University of Queensland and graduated with a degree in 2004. Occupational Therapy has provided Megan opportunities to work with individuals at different stages of their lives to increase independence, find purpose and participate in meaningful activities.
Megan and Laura started MLOT in October 2021. Megan enjoys working with people with Psychosocial Disabilities to enable them to do the activities they want and need to do, always with a problem-solving approach to meet each person’s unique needs.
Megan has worked in the NDIS space in Toowoomba since 2017 initially for an NGO specialising in Psychosocial Disability and then with Laura at MLOT.
Megan loves spending time with family and being outdoors camping or just being in her back yard.
